Answer
Exam answer
Maulana Mohammad Ali and Maulana Shaukat Ali — known together as the Ali brothers. (Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Hakim Ajmal Khan and Hasrat Mohani are equally acceptable.)
Explanation
One mark each. The Ali brothers are the expected answer and should be named in full. Context worth a line: the movement protested against the harsh treatment of Turkey after the First World War and the removal of the Sultan, who was the Khalifa or religious head of the Muslims. Gandhiji supported it and merged it with Non-Cooperation, making it the first great Hindu-Muslim joint struggle.
