Exam answer
UNESCO stands for the UNITED NATIONS EDUCATIONAL, SCIENTIFIC AND CULTURAL ORGANISATION. It was established in 1946 and has its headquarters at Paris.
Explanation
Every word of the full form earns part of the mark, and the one candidates most often drop is SCIENTIFIC. The name is also a memory aid for its functions: its three fields of work are exactly the three words — education (removing illiteracy, universal primary schooling), science (research and exchange of knowledge), and culture (World Heritage Sites, museums, monuments).
