Give any two examples of Human Rights violations.

(1) RACIAL DISCRIMINATION — as under apartheid in South Africa, where people were denied rights on grounds of colour; and discrimination on grounds of caste, religion, sex or language. (2) SLAVERY AND EXPLOITATION — forced labour, bonded labour, child labour and human trafficking; and the denial of civil liberties, such as detention without trial, torture, genocide, and the suppression of free speech and free worship.

One mark each. Give two genuinely different KINDS of violation — discrimination and exploitation — rather than two examples of the same. Naming a historical instance such as apartheid, or the Nazi persecution of the Jews, makes the answer concrete. Context worth a clause: the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted by the UN General Assembly on 10 December 1948, and the day is observed as Human Rights Day.
