TROPIC HORMONES.
Explanation
A TROPIC hormone is one whose TARGET is another ENDOCRINE GLAND rather than a body tissue. They are secreted by the ANTERIOR lobe of the PITUITARY, which is why it is called the MASTER GLAND.
The family: TSH (stimulates the thyroid), ACTH (the adrenal cortex), FSH and LH (the gonads).
The word TROPIC here means "directed at" — not to be confused with TROPIC MOVEMENTS in plants, which use the same root to mean "turning towards".
