Advisory Jurisdiction means that the President may refer to the Supreme Court any question of law or fact which is of public importance, and seek its opinion.
The Court may, after such hearing as it thinks fit, report its opinion to the President. The opinion is ADVISORY only — it is not binding on the President, and the Court may also decline to give one.
Two marks, so give the power and its essential limitation. The mark that candidates lose is the second: the opinion is NOT BINDING. Saying so is what distinguishes advisory jurisdiction from a judgement, and it is exactly what the examiner is checking. Remember too that only the PRESIDENT can seek such an opinion, and only the Supreme Court has this jurisdiction — High Courts do not.
