What are the two functions of cerebellum?

1. It COORDINATES voluntary muscular activity, making movements smooth, accurate and precise.
2. It MAINTAINS BALANCE and the posture of the body.

Two functions, one mark each — coordination and balance.

THE DISTINCTION from the cerebrum matters and is often tested: the CEREBRUM DECIDES to make a movement, the CEREBELLUM CONTROLS how it is carried out. A person with cerebellar damage still intends to pick up a cup and still tries, but the movement is jerky, misjudged and unsteady.

That is also why alcohol, which depresses the cerebellum, produces staggering and loss of balance rather than loss of intention.

The three parts and their roles: CEREBRUM — thinking, memory, voluntary action; CEREBELLUM — coordination and balance; MEDULLA OBLONGATA — involuntary activity such as heartbeat and breathing.
