UROCHROME gives urine its pale yellow colour. It is formed from the breakdown of haemoglobin from worn-out red blood cells — the same process that produces the bile pigments.
The prefix URO- means urine, which identifies it at once.
The other three pigments belong elsewhere, and knowing where is worth a mark in another question: MELANIN — the brown pigment of skin, hair and the eye; its absence causes albinism and its patchy loss causes leukoderma ANTHOCYANIN — a PLANT pigment giving red, purple and blue colours to flowers and fruits HAEMOGLOBIN — the red pigment of blood; it should never appear in urine, and if it does (haematuria) it signals disease
