(1) To keep away from military alliances and power blocs, and to preserve the independence of judgement of the newly free nations so that each issue could be decided on its merits. (2) To work for world peace and disarmament, to oppose colonialism, imperialism, racialism and apartheid, and to secure a fairer international economic order for the developing countries.
One mark each. The first objective is the defining one — staying out of the two blocs — and must appear. For the second, choose either the peace-and-disarmament aim or the anti-colonial aim; both are correct. Adding the economic dimension shows that NAM was not only a Cold War posture but a demand for a more just world order. Remember the distinction examiners test: non-alignment is not neutrality or isolation, but an ACTIVE and independent role in world affairs.
