State any one administrative function of the Cabinet.

The Cabinet FORMULATES AND DIRECTS the internal and external policy of the country; every important administrative decision of the government is taken by it, and the departments merely carry out its decisions. (Equally acceptable: it co-ordinates and controls the work of all the government departments; or it makes the higher appointments of the state, which the President formally makes on its advice.)

One function only, so choose one and state it fully. Policy-making is the safest. Keep to ADMINISTRATIVE functions as asked — the Cabinet’s legislative and financial functions are separate categories and answer different questions. Remember the distinction that underlies every Cabinet question: the CABINET is the small inner group of senior ministers that meets and decides; the COUNCIL OF MINISTERS is the whole body of all three ranks and never meets as one.
