An Ordinance is a law promulgated by the PRESIDENT when Parliament is NOT IN SESSION and he is satisfied that circumstances require immediate action. It has the same force and effect as an Act of Parliament.
It must be laid before both Houses when they reassemble, and ceases to operate six weeks from their reassembly unless approved before then.
