Option (a) shifts to the simple past ("brought"), losing the present perfect. It is the commonest error in this conversion, because the simple past sounds natural.

Option (d) is a SPELLING trap: BROUGHT is the past of bring; BOUGHT is the past of buy. One word apart, entirely different meaning.

Option (b) leaves the sentence passive despite beginning with "He".
