By PLANTING TREES and caring for them, protecting the existing plants and parks in my locality, refusing to allow unnecessary felling of trees, and joining or supporting local green initiatives and afforestation drives.
Note the wording: "as a CITIZEN" and "can YOU". The answer must be something an individual student could actually do, so write it in the FIRST PERSON and keep it practical.
WHAT LOSES MARKS HERE: answering with what the GOVERNMENT should do — "strict laws should be passed", "the municipality should plant trees". That is a different question, and it is the commonest way to lose the mark.
Two or three concrete actions are enough. Vague good intentions ("we should save the environment") earn nothing; planting a tree, maintaining a terrace garden, objecting when a tree is felled, or joining a clean-up drive are all specific and creditable.
