State any two disadvantages of living close to an airport.

1. NOISE POLLUTION from aircraft engines, which are far above the safe limit of about 80 decibels. Continued exposure causes hearing loss, sleeplessness, hypertension and difficulty in concentrating.
2. AIR POLLUTION from the burning of aviation fuel, which releases carbon monoxide, oxides of nitrogen and unburnt hydrocarbons, causing respiratory disorders.

Two are asked for, so give exactly two — and make them DIFFERENT KINDS of pollution rather than two consequences of noise.

For each, state the pollutant AND its effect on people. "There is a lot of noise" is worth little; "noise above 80 decibels causing hearing loss and sleeplessness" is worth the mark.

Other acceptable answers: constant vibration damaging buildings; the risk of accidents; loss of land and displacement of residents. Any two well-explained points will do.
