THE PULMONARY VEIN is the great exception to the usual rule. It carries OXYGENATED blood from the lungs to the left atrium of the heart.
Ordinarily arteries carry oxygenated blood and veins carry deoxygenated — but the pulmonary vessels reverse it, because they run to and from the lungs rather than to and from the body: PULMONARY ARTERY — carries DEOXYGENATED blood from the heart TO the lungs PULMONARY VEIN — carries OXYGENATED blood FROM the lungs to the heart
The renal and hepatic VEINS are ordinary veins, carrying deoxygenated blood away from the kidney and liver, so options (c) and (d) go.
