VASECTOMY.

In a vasectomy the VAS DEFERENS (sperm duct) is cut and tied, so sperms can no longer pass into the semen.
The female equivalent is TUBECTOMY, in which the FALLOPIAN TUBES are cut and tied. Each name contains its structure — VAS-ectomy and TUBE-ctomy — so reading the word prevents confusion.
Note that a vasectomy does not stop the production of testosterone; only the passage of sperms is blocked.
