On the POSTERIOR (rear) SURFACE OF THE TESTIS — a long, highly coiled tube lying along the back of each testis, inside the scrotum.
Explanation
The epididymis is where sperms are STORED and MATURE, gaining the ability to swim.
It is extremely long — several metres when uncoiled — which is why it must be tightly coiled to fit against the testis. The length matters because sperms take days to mature as they travel along it.
The path of a sperm: SEMINIFEROUS TUBULES (made here) → EFFERENT DUCTS → EPIDIDYMIS (stored and matured) → VAS DEFERENS → URETHRA.
