The prefixes settle it without any recall: ENDO- means WITHIN — endolymph is the fluid INSIDE the membranous labyrinth, and the organ of Corti lies within that, so endolymph surrounds it. PERI- means AROUND — perilymph lies BETWEEN the membranous labyrinth and the bony labyrinth outside it.
