Label the parts numbered 1 to 3 in the diagram.
Topic: Parts of the testis
Answer
1 — SCROTUM (scrotal sac) 2 — SPERM DUCT (vas deferens) 3 — EPIDIDYMIS
Identify them by POSITION: the SCROTUM is the outer sac of skin enclosing everything; the EPIDIDYMIS is the long coiled tube lying along the back of the testis; the SPERM DUCT leads away from the epididymis and upward out of the scrotum.
THE PATH OF A SPERM, which fixes the order of all three:
SEMINIFEROUS TUBULES (made here) → EFFERENT DUCTS → EPIDIDYMIS (stored and matured) → VAS DEFERENS → URETHRA
The VAS DEFERENS is what is cut in a VASECTOMY, which is why sperms can no longer reach the semen.
