Read the RAY DIAGRAM to identify the defect: if the rays converge to a focus BEFORE reaching the retina, it is MYOPIA; if they would converge BEYOND it, hypermetropia.
In myopia the eye bends light TOO STRONGLY, so the image of a DISTANT object forms in front of the retina and appears blurred. Near objects are seen clearly.
