Imagine you are an Indian ruler who has signed the Subsidiary Alliance. Mention any two conditions of this agreement which will affect you.

(1) I must keep a British force within my territory and pay for its maintenance; if I fail to pay, part of my territory will be taken over in lieu of payment. (2) I must accept a British Resident at my court, and I may not employ any European without British approval, nor enter into any alliance or negotiate with any other ruler without the consent of the British — so I lose control of my foreign affairs and, in effect, my independence.

One mark each. The question says "which will affect YOU", so answer in the first person as an affected ruler — that is what the framing invites, and it costs nothing. Introduced by Lord Wellesley in 1798. The two conditions that matter most are the paid-for British force and the loss of control over external relations. Adding the consequence — that the ruler kept his throne but lost his sovereignty — shows real understanding.
