next() stops at the first whitespace, so it reads only a single word. nextLine() reads everything up to the end of the line, spaces included — which is what you need for a full name or an address. Remember the companion trap: after nextInt() you must call an extra nextLine() to clear the leftover newline, or the next nextLine() will return an empty string.
