(i) final fixes a value so it can never be reassigned: final double PI = 3.14; Any later attempt to change PI is a compile-time error. By convention such constants are written in capitals. (ii) System.exit(0) stops the whole program immediately, wherever it is called from — not just the current method or loop. The argument 0 signals normal termination; a non-zero value signals an error. Do not confuse it with break (leaves a loop or switch) or return (leaves only the current method).
