Math.sqrt(3 * x + x * x) / (a + b)
Explanation
Two bracketing decisions carry the marks. Everything under the radical goes inside Math.sqrt(...), so the whole of 3x + x^2 is its single argument. The denominator must be bracketed as (a + b). Writing / a + b would divide by a and then ADD b, because / outranks +. Any time a denominator has more than one term, it needs its own brackets. Write 3x as 3 * x — Java has no implied multiplication.
